Ulo / gaz room

Gastætte rum

Airtight rooms (Ulo-rum)

Previously it was only possible to enjoy fresh fruit during a few weeks over the year. Today the supermarkets offer fresh fruit for months after the harvest; this is not least because of the very airtight storage rooms which big nurseries use to keep their harvest. Moeskjær International is one of the few companies that deal with these special storage rooms.

The airtight rooms are drained of air once the fruit has been placed for storage. The almost non-existence of air makes the fruit go into lethargy. When the room is opened after several months, the consistency of the fruit is the same as once placed there. The whole process is controlled by a computer. The fruit can be kept in the airtight storage rooms for several months, meaning that we can all enjoy fresh fruit from harvest time and well into spring time.

Moeskjær International is the supplier of such storage rooms for e.g. GAZA in Odense and a number of nurseries on the south of Funen.
